MICHAEL LESIN Michael Lesin passed away peacefully on Friday, November 10, 2001 at St. Josephs Residence Nursing Home at the aged of 92 years. He is survived by his wife Stasia, of 66 years of marriage; and his daughter Christine Niedermayer (Charlie) two grandsons, Don (Theresa) and Jim (Joanne), four great-grandchildren, Gordon, Brian, Bill and Aimee. He was predeceased by his great-grandson Joey on December 4, 1978. Michael was born in Poland in the village of Piwonici on September 24, 1909. He came to Canada in August 1951 to work as a pulpwood cutter for the Manitoba Paper Company Later he was employed by the Hudson Bay Company at the Pine Falls store until his retirement in 1974. One of his greatest passions was gardening. He loved people and was a generous host when people came to his home. He loved music and loved to play his harmonica. Since the summer of 2000, Michael has spent his time in different hospitals. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Pine Falls Hospital, the Riverview Health Centre, Winnipeg on the fourth floor (west wing) for their compassionate care he received. Above all, our sincere thanks to all of the staff at St. Josephs Residence, who helped Michael to be comfortable in his final days and for the support the family received. You were all wonderful. God bless you all. Funeral liturgy will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 14 at 1:30 p.m. at the Notre Dame du Laus Roman Catholic Church, Powerview, MB with Rev. Fr. Jim Gray presiding.
